DECAPOLIS, Nysa-Scythopolis. Marcus Licinius Crassus. Proconsul, 54-53 BCE. Æ (20mm, 5.66 g, 12h). Dated CY 10 (54 BCE). Head of Gabinius or Crassus right / Dionysus standing facing, head left, holding cantharus and leaning on thyrsus; [ΓAB/ NY in two lines to left, L-I (date) to right, Λ in exergue]. RPC I 4827; HGC 10, 388; Barkay 5; DCA 593. Dark green and brown surfaces with earthen highlights/deposits. Fine. Very rare.
